how do you get someone out of jail who is in there indifinatly for a crime they did not commit

Hopefully it is obvious to you that there is no simple answer to this question. An attorney would need to know whatthe charges are, why they are in jail "indefinitely", what proof is there that they did not commit the crime and why can't the current defense attorney get them out of jail. I recently had a similar situation where a client was in jail over a year for an armed robbery they did not commit. After extensive investigation, I had enough evidence to convince the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office of their innocence and all charges were dismissed in the interest of justice.
