Can a FLARPL that has been recorded be discharged in bankruptcy and can the family law court sign off on a stipulated settlement that extinguishes the FLARPL without notice to the attorney holding the lien?
Answer
What's a FLARPL?
Answer
After dying of curiosity I realized that you were using an acronym for an encumbrance to pay attorney's fees, set forth in Family Code section 2033. The problem is that the lien is secured by a deed of trust, and secured liens survive bankruptcy.
