Question

I have self-published a couple of books and intend to publish several more. I would like my children to inherit this revenue stream when I pass away. Do I need to incorporate a publishing company to do that, or is there a simpler way?

Answer

Regardless of whether you form a publishing company, you will need a will to make sure the revenue stream gets to your children. It may not be a bad idea to formalize some sort of entity with the controls already in place in the event of your death. Otherwise, your children will be left to their own devices to determine how to manage the assets.
