Child molester law suit

I am an adult survivor of childhood sexual abuse by my stepfather. I was abused over the course of 8 years. Subsequently, he went to state prison for about 7 years. This abuse occured almost 30 years ago. Is there any way he can be sued civily at this time? (What about the priests)

The law that increases the statute of limitations on these crimes does not reach back that far. I am sorry.
