Hi, I've bought a business several years ago that went under. i paid cash and had a perdonal note of 40K that wasn't paid back, i had a judgement on my credit report which i disputed and won because on the personal note there was no SS#. Heres the question... my dad is in the middle of a refi on his house and the bank called him today and said therrs a 40K lien on his house from the people i bought the biz from. My dad had nothing to do with it! How is this possible and. can it stick?? What to do??? Thanks in advance.

I would need to pull the court file to see but the usual remedy is to either fix the credit file or get the judgment vacated. I do this regularly and it's not very expensive. Feel free to write back through lawguru or kevinjconnollylaw.com
