Question

I went to family law court in August 2012 with my ex who agreed he owes me $20,000.+ in back support so I was to get a refund of the money I paid him in 2009 when he had custody for a few months. He of course received the child support after he reported a change of address ten days before the court order was recorded so he received my refund and moved out of state. What legal recourse do I have?

Answer

If you have a court order that states the funds are to be paid to you, then take the order to the child support enforcement office and present it to them and have them issue you a check. It will be up to them to correct their error.
