Question

A close family friend under age has been living with me for 4 months, with her mother's permission. She has now been taken from my home for getting in trouble in school by her mother which has not been involved financially, emotionally, or physically in this allotted time. She has been placed in her grandmother's care, and her grandmother is medically incapable of raising a child. Do I have the right to go sue for custody? And what are my chances?

Answer

Your chances of winning custody of this child to whom you apparently

bear no official relation are probably about ZERO under the facts as described (in my opinion).
