My grandmother passed and my aunt took over her property including a house..she now is moving out of state and wants someone to move in to contiue upkeep..everything is still in my grandmothers name and she has just been makeing the proper payments untill she can get a lawyer..is this illegal?
Answer
It is not necessarily illegal per se. But someone should be taking steps to have the property properly transferred or probated to the proper heirs so that they might have the use and benefit and value of your grandmother's assets.
