What is the difference between a genre in art and a specific style of art?
Put simply, "Genre" refers to type of art, i.e., subject matter. In movies or books example would be comedy, drama, horror, sci-fi, etc. "Style" refers to method/medium such as watercolors, oils, acrylic and/or abstract, impressionist, etc. I am reasonably sure this is correct.
