what can be done when statutes have run out and you've tried desperately to ellicit the help of a lawyer. i have been so terribly ill. working with a lawyer, grieving and taking care of my health
Answer
Unfortunately, once a statute of limitations has expired, the claimant is then barred from seeking redress. The complaint may be dismissed by the court. If a claimant was unable to find a lawyer to represent him/her, it is up tp the claimant to file a claim pro se to preserve the action, if they so choose. Otherwise, the failure to retain a lawyer despite a good faith effort will not preserve the claim.
