i am going to receiving a small inheritence from my father. I had state insurance and aide for my son from 1991-1993. I received a letter stating that they want a repayment of $11,000 back from my small inheritance.
Can they do this? What recourse do I have?

They can. They will take only half your inheritance, up to the $11,000. So if you inherit $5000, they take $2500. If you inherit $30,000, they take $11,000.
