Question

I recently had my child support increased to the point that I am paying 90% of the child's total support in accordance with the Virginia guidelines. My ex is reporting that she is disabled but not yet collecting SSI. Is it reasonable for me to ask the court to be able to claim the child as a dependent on my taxes rather than her's?

Answer

Why, of course, what's holding up your request (keeping in

mind that it is an IRS rule/regulation which normally determines such matters)?
