i have a summons for court over a past due credit card bill.my bankruptcy lawyer says i can go or not the results will be the same. if i don't go what will happen? i don't want someone coming to arrest me for not showing up.

Generally people are not arrested for civil offenses. We can not give legal advice here when you already have an attorney.
