Question

is there a state or goverment agency that reveiws mortgage loan documents to determin if any real e

state laws were violated

california

Answer

No.

Answer

Not routinely. Courts, of course, review mortgage loan documents fairly often, in the context of private lawsuits, sometimes with a view toward possible law violations, but only when asked to do so by a party to a suit. The attorney general is probably on the lookout for prominent and recurring violations of the law. However, there is no agency that reviews loan documents before they are signed, recorded and effective.
