When registering a new corporation do you simply do a state wide search for name availability or is a national search required?

Answer

Depending on the intended nature of the business and business name, a national search is probably not required. However, I may be advisable to do a trademark search on the business name and any anticipated uses of DBA's to avoid trademark infringement.
