I represented myself in a civil case as the plaintiff and settled. I believe the settlement was in bad faith on their part. What is the criteria for overturning/throwing out a settlement? Time frame? This happened in CA.
Answer
Your question does not make much sense. How can a settlement be in bad faith? By definition it's something both sides agreed to. If you realize now that you could have gotten a better deal, that is not a basis to overturn the deal you made.
Answer
You are misreading something. I have a feeling that you are confusing your settlement with a "motion to determine a good faith settlement," which has no application to your situation.
I agree with Mr. Hoffman. If the settlement offer was so terrible, you should not have agreed to it.
