Was Teddy Pendergrass from MS?
Teddy wasn't from Mississippi. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. Hestarted his singing career at a church in Philadelphia and attendedschool in Philly up to the 11th grade, after which he dropped outto pursue a music career. He was a member of several local bands inthe area, and was discovered in 1970 by Harold Melvin (of HaroldMelvin and the Blue Notes, another Philly group). Their firstsuccessful hit with Teddy was "I Miss You", a song that was alsoproduced in Philadelphia, PA. It's still a classic.
